Heck yeah – it’s Friday!!! Between the Pine had the honor of teaming up with Mayden Photography this past week to create these incredible photos and recipe. Honestly, I have been staring at them all week and counting down the days until I could share them all with you. Erika (the owner of Mayden Photography) is not only talented, she is also kind, authentic, intentional, and all the things most of us strive to be. Spending the day with her is always refreshing and sometimes I wish I could just bring her everywhere to catch those in-between moments of life. I mean, just look at these pictures! So talented.
Monday we spent the day taste testing everything you see pictured, laughing at how chia seeds make the biggest mess, and listening to Chance the Rapper. This is what I love about food. It brings down those walls we build up and gives us excuses to hang out and do what humans do best – eat.
This recipe is not only simple, but allows you to be creative with it. The base of an Açaí bowl is essentially a smoothie, and then you top it with whatever you can find in your pantry. And let’s be real, there is something about making your food look pretty that makes you feel accomplished and want to high-five your roommate.
You might be wondering, “What is the deal with Açaí ? I see it everywhere, and can it really be that amazing?” Okay here is your answer – uh, yes it really is that amazing! Loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, it’s just another reason to feel pumped up about making this recipe. And you want to know the best part? I found a killer brand that I truly believe in and I think I might even be becoming a fan-girl of.
Sambrazon Açaí is fair trade, non-GMO, and organic. These three words are such a big deal because: fair trade means everyone who has a hand in making their product is paid a livable wage, and non-GMO and organic ensures their product is free from scary chemicals and modifications. And it gets even better because Sambrazon harvests their açaí berries in a sustainable manner, and stands for more than just their products. I found their açaí at Costco and really had no idea what they were about, but after using their product I looked them up and was blown away. Finding a company that goes the extra step to care for their ingredients, employees, and impact is hard to come by.
So, obviously after that whole spiel, I guess we can all assume I am officially a fan-girl. Oh well! Go ahead and try this recipe out for yourself and I would love to see your creations too! Feel free to tag me in your Instagram or send me your pictures at mollieradams(at)gmail(dot)com
